Pour Yourself a Glass of New Zealand” is a month-long celebration of New Zealand white wine varieties, taking place in May, with a particular focus this year on white wines.

It coincides with the international celebration of Sauvignon Blanc Day and also Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay, New Zealand’s top three exported white wines.

New Zealand’s wine regions extend 1,100km (700 miles) from subtropical Northland (35° S) down to Central Otago (45° S), home to the world’s most southerly vineyards.

New Zealand’s distinctive winegrowing regions each have unique soils and climatic conditions that are expressed in the wines produced.

Most famous for Sauvignon Blanc, the temperate maritime climate allows a wide range of wine varieties to flourish.

Join us as we celebrate and enjoy these wines throughout the month of May.

In addition to celebrating New Zealand white wine this May, this year the New Zealand wine industry celebrates 30 years of Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) – one of the first sustainability programs to be established in the global wine sector. Today, 98% of New Zealand’s vineyard-producing area is SWNZ certified and 10% operate under recognized certified organic programs, and with that level of participation, the New Zealand wine industry’s sustainability credentials are respected around the world.
