Mead is the world’s oldest alcoholic drink. It is made from fermented honey and dates back at least 9,000 years.
Kinsale Mead’s award-winning meads are judged as among the best in the world. They are full of delicious flavours, fermented from carefully sourced raw honey, filtered local water and ripe berries. Their meads are refreshingly different and versatile, either served on their own or as a lovely, light alternative to wine when paired with food or in a range of cocktails to delight the senses. Hazy Summer Mead
A melomel style mead made from raw honey muddled with a tumble of ripe summer berries. Off dry.
Tasting Notes:
Juicy and refreshingly light with generous strawberries and raspberries on the nose, blackberries, blackcurrant and cherries with a subtle blueberry and honey finish. A tumble of ripe summer berries.
Serve: Enjoy on its own, over ice or with a splash of light lemonade or sparkling wine and frozen berries. An Irish Pimms!
Cocktail: Mead Sangria – Hazy Summer Mead, Cointreau, cranberry juice and fresh lime over ice with an orange slice.
Food Pairing: Delicious with spicy chicken wings, chorizo and fresh salads or berry flans and blue cheese.
