“Food without wine is a corpse; wine without food is a ghost; united and well matched they are as body and soul, living partners.” Andre Simon (1877-1970)
Have you ever tasted wine or orange juice just after you’ve cleaned your teeth? Then you’ll know it’s not a pleasant experience.
Join us in Direct Wine Shipments as we explore how different wines match, or don’t with certain foods. We’ll find out why some pairings are a match made in heaven & why some are a real struggle. Why do some wines bring out the best in food and vice versa. How our taste affects what we eat/drink?
Book now for a fun evening tasting wine with a variety of food, and deciding which combinations make the best partners.
VITICULTURE & VINIFICATION with Peter Morris Wilson DipWSET

“You can make bad wine from good grapes but you can’t make good wine from bad grapes!”
Join wine expert & WSET Lecturer Peter Morris Wilson DipWSET as we explore how Viticulture (vineyard management) & Vinification (winemaking) decisions affect the wine we drink.
By tasting a selection of wine styles we will examine how the wine may be affected by climate, botrytis cinerea, carbonic maceration, oak & ageing.
This will be a relaxed afternoon learning about the science of wine & of course enjoying the taste!
