Massa Timorasso Costa del Vento 2016

2016 was an absolutely perfect vintage, here in the Colli Tortonesi as in the Langhe.  2016 would have been classified as ‘normal’ 20 years ago but with climate change now considered decidedly ‘cool’.  The harvest started 10 September with Timorasso under perfect conditions.

Costa del Vento comes from one of Walter’s oldest parcels (planted in 1990) facing almost due west and planted on predominantly clay soils with some limestone.  Costa del Vento always crafts the wines with the most power and intensity.

The wines have more tropical notes of pineapple, guava and mango alongside the classic stone fruit notes of mandarin, peach and nectarine.

Costa del Vento drinks well from 5-8 years.
