Domaine Pierre Usseglio Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Tradition 2016
80% Grenache, 10 % Syrah, 5% Cinsault, 5 % Mourvedre
The wines are aged in oak barrels, in half barrels, in concrete vats and barrels over a period of 12 months.
The Tradition has aromas of red fruits and black fruits; blackberry and blueberry, as well as hints of spice. It is a rich, concentrated and structured wine.
“92/100. The nose of plum, damson, strawberry and garrigue herbs marks this out as very much a classic, young Châteauneuf. Full-bodied but fresh, it has powerful tannic weight. Well balanced through to the savoury finish. Drinking Window 2019 – 2026.” (Matt Walls, Decanter)
