Grauzan Sauvignon Blanc, Languedoc, France
From the leading southern French co-operative, Cave Alignan du Vent. In the style of a ripe Bordeaux Blanc. Gooseberry notes with elegant finish. Full, crisp and clean.
Hörner Sauvignon Blanc, Pfalz, Germany
Light to medium bodied. Very fresh grapefruit, lime and gooseberry fruit notes. Excellent balance & depth. A staff favourite!
Domaine Joel Delaunay La Voûte, Loire, France
Pale lemon in colour with green reflections. An intense and elegant nose combining grapefruit, tropical fruits and floral notes. Ageing on fine lees with “bâtonnage” for 6 months adds extra complexity. The palate is fleshy and fresh, with clean minerality persisting on the finish.
Wildflower Sauvignon Blanc, Romania
Racy passionfruit, tangerine and gooseberry flavours are graceful and elegant, with a lovely, alive mouth feel and a medium body. A zingy acidity adds to the elegance, & the flavours echo on the finish. “A more warm-climate style of Sauvignon, full of rich, rounded tropical fruits with vibrant supporting acidity. Try it with green seafood curries or beetroot-and-goat’s-cheese salad, or as an aperitif.” (Irish Times)
Delheim Sauvignon Blanc, Coastal Region, South Africa
This light-toned wine has an expressive nose of citrus, passion fruit and lime zest notes. The palate is soft with a good balance between the vibrant fruit flavours and acidity that leaves you salivating.
The Jumper Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
From the award winning Hunter’s estate, established by Belfast man Ernie Hunter. Crisp but rich aromas of asparagus, gooseberry and passionfruit. These notes carry on to the palate with a vibrant intensity. Winemaker James MacDonald (nephew of Jane Hunter).
